About the Fellowship

The Emkaan Fellowship is a 12-week leadership program which aims to build the capacities of young Afghan women who are currently deprived of access to education and opportunities. It is an opportunity for them to discover service-centered leadership and chart a path toward personal and community development. Fellows will participate in contextually designed lectures and workshops on leadership, personal development, gender justice, self-care and wellbeing, and community building. The fellowship program also includes professional development sessions ranging from sessions on CV writing and networking via LinkedIn, to sessions on writing, communication and technical skills.

Fellows will also have the opportunity to apply their leadership skills in a real-world context, by participating in a co-created project or initiative that aligns with their interests. These may include community projects, as well as individual writing and research projects, designing or filmmaking projects, digital content creation, and so on.
